about

a record of minimal tunes. I started writing the record after I began playing twice a week at a local bbq bar outside of troy, al. the customers told me everything I played sounded like the blues. they meant it as an insult. asked me to learn or write more tunes that were uplifting or country. I wrote these tunes. none of these songs are what they asked for.

I kept everything minimal. mixed most the vocals down to one track, two guitar tracks, percussion(if any) on one track. recorded the vocals and acoustic guitars with a hundred dollar sennheiser e835. electric guitar done D.I. with my '94 mex telecaster. acoustic stuff is a Rogue hundred dollar acoustic.

it's an honest record. little to no editing. packed with the good stuff. here's a soundscape of one portion of my soul.
