about

Originally recorded and released in 2011, When I'm Older's debut release, I've Got Some Poems About Restlessness in the Pockets of My Jean Jacket, was also one of the first releases by TS Records.

All of the songs were arranged and tracked over three sleepless days in a house with no air conditioning in Scottsboro, Alabama during a July heat wave. As temperatures outside peaked in the low hundreds, Jesse struggled to read his lyrics inside as sweat poured into his eyes. Everyone survived on ramen, stolen veggie dogs, Southern Comfort, and how many ever packs of Pyramids could be bought with the change found in the couch.

The record is an eclectic exploration of Country music through the lens of Punk ethos. While its wide sonic pallet challenges the perceived limits of Country, the record also plays to the rebellious spirit and raucous energy of classic Country in a way that only dirty punk kids growing up in the middle of nowhere in Alabama could.

And now, several years later, TS Records proudly presents a newly remixed and remastered version of the album that fully allows it's beauty to shine.
