about

This song is one of the few that started out as a poem and ended up on the song exactly how I originally wrote the piece. The syntax doesn't seem to suffer either, so that's cool. The song alligned itself with a story of a friend and his ex, the meaning behind the collection of words and the girl's name co-exist in this song for a reason. We felt it was appropriate to get said friend to do the part where we sing ole girl's name. Viola! punk rock magic.

Timmi Sterritt also sings for Tom's other band, Word Travels Fast, so it was cool to have all these things tie together for a release. Also, Hannah Jackson returns in this song with some more harmonious female singing. Jah bless her.
-Charles

Timmi Sterritt is the dude that introduced me to LFT. He met Charles at a venue in Dalton, GA I believe, and showed me the "A Brand New Formula" EP. We both got pretty into it, and he took me to a show to meet all the dudes. I guess the rest is history. I'd been wanting to get Timmi to sing on a track since I joined the band, and I was so stoked that he came down to Scottsboro with me for a day after some wackass New Years shit. He threw something awesome over what was already one of my favorite LFT song's. I think this is the kind of track that can define our band.

lyrics

death
pages wet
in a scent
colors left
survive the wreck
what a mess
what a gorgeous mess
now holidays
are everyday
saint patrick’s day
to halloween
I spend most my time pretending
dreaming
drinking
mostly thinking
sense to be made
sense to be felt
tense to confusion
I feel how I live
I feel inempt
my band will tour
keep looking forward
the thing to do is to do
the only thing I can do
the one thing I will do
cause in a scent
in a sense
innocence
is a boring death
boring people boring people
smells like death
